SPICED PEARS

SPICED PEARS Slovenia

  • 1 jar maraschino cherries (drained & sliced)
  • 2 large cans pear halves
  • 2 cups sugar
  • ⅔ cup vinegar (short)
  • 4 or 5 cinnamon sticks
  • 24 whole cloves
  1. Drain pears & save juice.
  2. Combine sugar, vinegar, cinnamon & juice; boil 20 min, stirring constantly.
  3. Insert cloves in peer halves.
  4. Add pears & cherries to the boiled mixture.
  5. Heat thoroughly for about 5 min.
  6. Serve chilled.
