Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bavarian Dessert

 

Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bavarian Dessert

  • 2 envelopes of unflavored gelatin ((about) 2 measuring tablespoons)
  • 1 cup sugar (divided)
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 4 eggs (separated)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 12 oz 2 cups Nestle Semi-Sweet Real Chocolate Morsels ( )
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups heavy cream (whipped)
  1. In large saucepan, combine gelatin,½ cup sugar and salt; set aside. In small bowl, beat egg yolks and milk; stir into gelatin mixture.

  2. Add Nestle Semi-Sweet Real Chocolate Morsels and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until gelatin is dissolved and morsels are melted (about 8 minutes).

  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Stir in vanilla extract.
  5. Chill, stirring occasionally, until mixture mounds when dropped from a spoon.
  6. In large bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form.
  7. Gradually add remaining l/2 cup sugar and beat until very stiff.
  8. Fold in chocolate mixture.
  9. Fold in whipped cream.
  10. Turn into 8-cup decorative mold.
  11. Chill in refrigerator until firm.
  12. Unmold onto serving plates.
  13. Garnish with whipped cream, if desired.
