The Frankenmuth Historical Museum is a seven gallery interactive museum detailing the history of Frankenmuth (Michigan) community from its founding by German Lutheran missionaries in 1845 to now.

Beer Biscuits

Ingredients

  • 2 cup Bisquick Mix
  • 1/4 cup onions finely chopped
  • 1/2 - 2/3 cup beer freshly opened
  • 1/2 cup cheddar cheese grated

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 450º.
  • In a large bowl, combine all ingredients and stir with a fork until sticky ball forms.
  • Turn out on well-floured board.
  • Knead 8-10 times, then pat or roll into a 1/2" thick square.
  • Cut into 16 pieces, place on a lightly floured greased sheet.
  • Bake 10-12 minutes until browned.

Maple Sea Foam Frosting

Ingredients

  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar
  • 3/4 tsp maple flavoring
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  • Combine egg whites, brown sugar with water, in the top of double boiler and mix well.
  • Beat at high speed for 7 minutes or until mixture will hold its shape.
  • Remove from heat and add flavoring, beat again until stiff peak form.
  • Makes enough to fill and frost an 8" or 9" layer cake.
