Mystery Fruitcake
- 10" tube pan
- 1 package cake mix (honey spice, yellow, white, or devil's food)
- 4 cups candied mixed fruit
- ½ cup red candied cherries (whole)
- ½ cup green candied cherries (whole)
- 1 cup dates (cut up)
- 4¼ cups pecan halves
- 1 package fluffy white frosting mix
Bake cake as directed on package.
Cool.
Crumble cooled cake into large bowl and add rest of ingredients.
Make fluffy white frosting according to directions and add to fruit, nuts, and cake mixture.
Stir with spoon or toss together with hands until mixture is damp and blended.
Pack tightly into foil-lined 10" tube pan and pat down with buttered hands until smooth.
Cover cake with foil and chill in refrigerator at least 24 hours.
Slice with sharp knife and serve cold.
