- 2 cups sifted flour
- 2 cups light brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 egg
- 1 cup sour milk
- 1 teaspoon soda

Mix flour and sugar. Cut in butter as for pastry and reserve 1 cup of the crumbs.

Add egg, milk with soda and beat until smooth.

Pour into a greased 9″ x 13″ pan and sprinkle with reserved crumbs.

Bake about 30 minutes in a 350-degree oven or until done
