Christmas Eve Supper A La king

Ingredients

  • 3 Cups Chicken Cooked
  • 1 1/2 Cups Ham Cooked and cubed or bite size
  • 1/2 Cup Green pepper Chopped
  • 1 Small jar Red pimentos
  • 2 Cans Condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 Can Condensed Cream of celery soup
  • 6 oz Can Mushrooms Pieces undrained
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1/4 Tsp Pepper

Instructions

  • Sauté chopped green pepper in butter for about 6 minutes.
  • Add soup (condensed), mushrooms, and pimentos.
  • In a 2-qt casserole or larger, combine all the ingredients. If it appears too thick, add a little milk.
  • Place in a 350 degree oven for 45 minutes to 1 hour or until bubbling and slightly brown on the edge. Garnish with green pepper rings and serve with croutons

Croutons

  • Estimate 2 slices of bread per person. Toast 12 or more slices of white bread in broiler until golden brown. Remove from oven and cut into cubes. Place in separate dish for buffet serving.

Ginger Cookies

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup shortening
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 tbsp dark molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp soda
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp cloves
  • 1 tsp ginger

Instructions

  • Mix well, roll in walnut sized balls, dip one side into granulated sugar. Bake in 350º oven until brown.

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 tbsp anise seed crushed

Instructions

  • Beat eggs until thick.
  • Gradually add sugar, continuing to beat until very thick.
  • Fold in flavoring and flour gradually.
  • Add anise seed.
  • Drop onto lightly greased cookie sheets.
  • Let stand for 12 hours until hard crust forms on top of cookies.
  • Bake in pre-heated oven at 350º F for about 10 minutes.
  • Cookies will be light colored with tops puffed up to resemble icing.
  • Store i tightly covered container.
  • Yields approx 3 dozen cookies.

Christmas Form Cookies

Cream together until very light:

  • 1 lb. Butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 eggs

Then mix in:

  • 1 cup milk added alternately with
  • 6 cups flour sifted with
  • 2 tsp. Baking powder
  • 1 tsp. Soda

Chill dough overnight. Roll on lightly floured board. Use desired forms dipped lightly in flour. Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes. Makes about 100 cookies.

Green Bean Casserole

Green Bean Casserole

 

1 pkg. Frozen green beans
1 can mushroom soup
1 can French fried onions

Partially cook 1 pkg. Frozen green beans. Place in casserole and add 1 cap soup. Add a little water if necessary and mix. Cover with French fried onions. Bake in a 350° oven until bubbling- about 30-35 minutes.
