Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bavarian Dessert

Ingredients

  • 2 envelopes of unflavored gelatin (about) 2 measuring tablespoons
  • 1 cup sugar divided
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 4 eggs separated
  • 2 cups milk
  • 12 oz 2 cups Nestle Semi-Sweet Real Chocolate Morsels
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups heavy cream whipped

Instructions

  • In large saucepan, combine gelatin,½ cup sugar and salt; set aside. In small bowl, beat egg yolks and milk; stir into gelatin mixture.
  • Add Nestle Semi-Sweet Real Chocolate Morsels and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until gelatin is dissolved and morsels are melted (about 8 minutes).
  • Remove from heat.
  • Stir in vanilla extract.
  • Chill, stirring occasionally, until mixture mounds when dropped from a spoon.
  • In large bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form.
  • Gradually add remaining l/2 cup sugar and beat until very stiff.
  • Fold in chocolate mixture.
  • Fold in whipped cream.
  • Turn into 8-cup decorative mold.
  • Chill in refrigerator until firm.
  • Unmold onto serving plates.
  • Garnish with whipped cream, if desired.
