#Repost @forestlawnbuffalo with @repostapp・・・The last days of the iron front on the Russel Macy Osborne Mausoleum in Section B. Built in 1851, the monument showed significant sings of deterioration by the time this photo was taken in 1954. With no surviving heirs to cover the cost of repair, the front was removed and a stone wall was constructed to ensure the safety of visitors on the grounds. History has the ability to bury monuments of yesteryear, but treasures like these must be preserved for future generations to come.
