Strawberry Pie from the Fridge
Ingredients
- 1½ tablespoons tasteless gelatin
- ¼ cup cold water
- 2 cups strawberries
- ½ cup sugar
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whipped cream
- 2 egg whites
- Dough for 9 inch pies
Instructions
- Soak the strawberries in cold water.
- Wash the berries and peel them, then crush them.
- Add sugar and salt.
- Melt the gelatin over hot water, then add it to the strawberries.
- Whip the cream thickly and fold into the mixture.
- Add the beaten egg whites last.
- Pour into the baked cake.
- Cool in the fridge until you can cut it.
