Let stand for one hour then drain thoroughly and put in a pot with remaining ingredients.
Boil for 1 hour, put in hot jars.

Important Note:The original recipe did not give canning instructions- just to put in hot jars and seal. Due to changes in food safety, I would suggest putting in jars, putting lids on, and freezing. (In short I don't know which would be safer, hot water sealing or pressure sealing)
