Apple Topped Coffee Cake
Ingredients
Coffee Cake
- ¾ cup sugar
- 4 tbsp. butter
- ½ cup milk
- 1½ cup flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
Topping
- sliced apples
- 4 tbsp. brown or white sugar
- 1 tbsp. flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp. melted butter
- chopped nuts optional
Instructions
- Cream sugar and butter together.
- Add egg and mix thoroughly.
- Stir in the milk, then add the sifted dry ingredients.
- Spread batter in greased, oblong baking dish or pan.
- Arrange apple slices on top of batter, pressing them slightly into the batter.
- Then sprinkle top with a mixture of the sugar, flour, cinnamon, melted butter, and (optional) chopped nuts.
- Bake about 30 minutes in a 375° oven.
- Serve warm with butter
