• Before initial use and after subsequent uses, hand wash with warm, soapy water.

• Dishwasher use is not advised as discoloration will occur due to the cleaning agents used in automatic dishwasher detergent. This discoloration is merely cosmetic and will not affect baking properties or safety of the pan.

• Natural aluminum pans work well with parchment paper, silicone baking mats, and also traditional butter or shortening and flour methods. When roasting savory foods such as vegetables, butter or cooking oil work well.

• Nylon, wood, or silicone utensils are recommended. Metal utensils and scouring pads may scratch natural aluminum pans, but will not affect baking performance

• Aluminum is reactive to acidic ingredients such as vinegar and tomato products. These foods may darken, pit or corrode the pan after prolonged use.

We have this pan in square and rectangular shapes as well as baking half-sheets. Quality is excellent for the price. Aluminum is a soft metal so these will scratch over time particularly if you use metal implements for, let's say, cutting and serving brownies. This won't affect performance, but if you don't like seeing scratches, use plastic. If you're heavy-handed, metal implements will gouge ANY aluminum product. Also, if you like to keep aluminum shiny and bright, use a cleaner/polish formulated for aluminum occasionally. Aluminum does naturally get dull over time and especially if you put it in the dishwasher. We always hand-wash ours.

There is a hard square cardboard label on every NordicWare pan. Turn the label over and there are CLEAR instructions for use. To all the idiots who put their pans in the dishwasher and their pan got discolored - LEARN TO READ. The good news the discoloration does not affect performance.

I purchased 2 NordicWare pans after my 2 Wilton pans ( Wilton Recipe Right Non-Stick 9-Inch Square Baking Pan with Lid, Set of 2) ..pans competely and totally rusted out to the max. Easily the worst set of pans I have ever purchased.

These Nordic pans are thicker and the height is perfect. I had a relative put one of them in the dishwasher (my bad - forgot to tell her) and it did looks a bit discolored but I don't care and it is not that bad)

I use these pans to put frozen chicken breasts etc. in a countertop oven. . I don't like to use my large oven now that it is summer to keep the heat out of the house and so I put my countertop oven on a covered back porch and pop in frozen chicken breasts/frozen vegetables etc for a quick dinner without the heat in the house. These pans are perfect for that. I have cooked fish, etc in these pans - no problem and any grease is kept inside and never drips over because the pans are deep.

I saw a photo of a hole in the corner of one of these pans (on a 1 star review). I can't help but wonder what heat setting she had to cause to melt or if she somehow poked a hole though the pan with a very sharp knife driven into the pan very violently. I have not had that problem and if I did I would mail the pan back to the company CEO and request a replacement. They have a lifetime warranty.

There is nothing like Nordic Ware baking equipment. You will not find a sturdier, better made cake pan/muffin tin/baking sheet etc. anywhere. The aluminum is so pure, a beautiful light colour, really solid and the reinforced sides really do make a difference. They are rounded and have such a nice edge, will never warp and these pans are going to last decades. Everything I have baked with them so far has turned out so beautifully. The cooking is so even there is truly nothing better. (And don’t forget, never buy those nonstick coatings they are extremely dangerous and carcinogenic.) I now have six or seven NW baking items. This is by far my favourite brand. And don’t forget it’s made in the USA which is very important to me! (I only buy things made in Canada and the USA now.) PS the reviewer who said he was disappointed about the dents doesn’t understand that these are hand crafted, hand bent into position etc. They are made the old-fashioned way, meaning the quality way. You shouldn’t want machine made crap from the PRofC.
